How do we avoid being so emotionally distracted by external factors which cause a lot of desires in us?

Usually a desire is composed of many factors including first, our element chart; second, our family background; third, our friends; fourth, the information or stimuli we pay attention to; fifth, our subjective attitude toward different people and things; sixth, our mind control training; and seventh, our larger sense of experience. If we do not fully understand these influences and thus do not have any method to deal with them, they will become everlasting demons controlling our mind, body, and even spirit. The most important and also the easiest way to stop us from being affected by external distractions which affect our desire is to just let go of everything. However, this is most difficult for us to carry out because we won‘t be able to eliminate those external distractions which automatically stimulate our desire. Therefore, the elimination of those external distractions by not paying attention to them is one of the methods to help us avoid having desires.
